VTuber streaming businesses that use Live2D may require a separate license agreement, depending on how Live2D is used and on sales.
Many VTubers stream using tracking software that incorporates the Live2D Cubism SDK. The End User License Agreements (EULAs) of this software state that, under certain conditions, a separate Publication License Agreement with Live2D Inc. and payment of a license fee are required.

If you operate a VTuber streaming business as a primary element of your business, and annual sales generated directly or indirectly by the covered software or content produced with it exceed JPY 20 million, you may be required to execute a separate Publication License Agreement with Live2D Inc. and pay a license fee. You are also required to notify Live2D Inc. promptly once your annual sales exceed JPY 20 million.
*“Operating as a primary element of your business” includes, but is not limited to, operating a VTuber streaming business. It does not include streaming video content for sales promotion.

Companies and organizations that operate a VTuber streaming business using Live2D
Sales generated directly or indirectly by the covered software or content produced with it are included.
Typical examples include the following types of revenue.
Video ads, sponsored content, etc.
Viewer support such as Super Chats and channel memberships
Merchandise sales, event revenue, brand collaborations, etc.

Review the software you use and how your content is used.
STEP 2
Review your most recent annual sales or your projected sales.
STEP 3
Once your annual sales exceed JPY 20 million, please notify Live2D Inc. promptly.
In this case, the applicable license plan is the “Expandable Applications” plan.
Yes, it may. Whether you are an individual or a company, a separate agreement may be required if annual sales from your VTuber streaming business exceed JPY 20 million.
You may. Separate from any software fees, a Publication License Agreement with Live2D Inc. and a license fee may be required depending on conditions such as annual sales.
