Sinsiroad is a Korean game production team consisting of 3 programmers, halak programmer, mauve illustrator, and kutata high school / university class in charge of planning and graphics. At first, I wanted to be a game creator at different companies, but I founded Sinsiroad with a strong desire to make games that I really want to make!
Live2D is used as an important technology for both Potion Maker and games that are currently being developed in the maid cafe. However, there were some difficult issues with using Live2D. For example, it was difficult to move many vertices correctly, and when the eyes were closed or deformed, the polygonal shape of the polygons became conspicuous and unnatural. This was solved by considering the method of replacing the eye shape drawn separately in the last frame of the moment when the eyes were closed. We also looked for ways to change the character's costume by exchanging only the textures of one model file, and this solution was written as an official tutorial for Live2D.
Since it was a small team of three people, there was a limit to the scale of games that could be created. While I was worried about how to make Potion Maker, the character's only game, attractive, I remembered and adopted Live2D used in other games. At the time of its release, there were few games that adopted Live2D and it was well received that “the moving character is cute! Now, two years after its release, it has been developed in seven languages and is loved by users all over the world. Also, because of the popularity of the game, it has been made into a light novel series by a major Korean publisher, and even goods are produced. Moving characters are known as a feature of our team and are an important technology that will be indispensable for future projects.
Recently, the collaboration between Live2D and FaceRig was very impressive! In this way, we hope to increase the content that allows users to apply model data easily and happily.
