What is SDK Release (Publication) License?

We understand that our users need to test our Live2D SDK products (Live2D Cubism SDK or  Live2D Euclid SDK ) to judge whether or not the SDKs would fit their contents. Therefore, Live2D SDK products are available for download at no initial cost upon agreeing to Live2D Proprietary Software License Agreement and Live2D Open Software License Agreement. In return, Publishers are required to obtain a license (Publication License Agreement) and pay applicable fees when releasing a content (game, app, etc) using our Live2D SDK products.

* “General Users” and “Small-Scale Enterprises” are exempted from Publication License Agreement.
* “General Users” means individuals, students, groups, or an entity with the most recent annual revenue under ten million (10,000,000) JPY.
* “Small-Scale Enterprises” means enterprises with the most recent annual revenue under 10M JPY.
* Any individual or entity with annual revenue of 10M JPY or more shall in no case be considered to be “General User” or “Small-Scale Enterprise” regardless of its form of entity status.
* The license framework presented in this page does not apply to Expandable Applications such as avatar system. To develop or publish an Expandable Application, a special license agreement is required (Business users only).

License plan is determined by the revenue model of your content (individual title).

* Publication License Agreement must be entered into before releasing contents.

This plan applies when your content (individual title) contains any in-app purchase or subscription element.
Fees below are after applying the special discount for displaying Live2D logo in your app & listing your app in our Showcase page.

* Initial fee and royalty for the first month are mandatory in any case.
* License is needed for each of the following 6 regions:’Japan’, ‘China’, ‘Asia(excl Japan & China)’, ‘North America’, ‘Europe’, and ‘All the rest’.
* License is needed for each Publisher. (Some exception may be applied for direct affiliates)
* Platforms are ‘iOS’,’Android’, and ‘Web’. Please inquire us for details about platforms not stated here, e.g. game consoles, casiono machines, embedded applications,  events, etc.
* The fees in this table are for Publication of contents using Cubism SDK. Please inquire us about Publication License fee for Euclid SDK.
* As of April 2017, Euclid SDK  is only available for Unity with a target platform of Windows. Other platforms will be added soon.

License fee: [B] One-time Plan

This plan applies when your content (individual title) is sold as an upfront-purchase or completely free without any in-app purchase or subscription element.
Fees below are after applying the special discount for displaying Live2D logo in your app & listing your app in our Showcase page.
